The south-west corner of the house is the best location for the master bedroom. It is linked to the earth element and supports stability, strength, and sound sleep. The north-west is an acceptable option and can suit couples or those who prefer a lighter, more change-oriented energy. Avoid the north-east (can affect finances and peace), south-east (fire element, can cause restlessness), and centre of the house for the master bedroom.
An ideal master bedroom is about 12×14 feet to 14×16 feet (roughly 180–250 square feet). Smaller homes can use at least 10×12 feet. Ceiling height of 10–12 feet helps ventilation and comfort. Prefer a regular rectangle; L-shaped or irregular rooms can create uneven energy flow.
Place the bed with the head toward south or west; the south-west corner of the room is ideal. Leave a small gap (about 3–4 inches) between the bed and the wall. Avoid placing the bed in line with the door, under a beam, or under a sloped ceiling. Prefer a wooden bed; avoid metal frames where possible. Do not place mirrors so they reflect the bed.
Use earthy, calming tones: light brown, beige, almond, light green, or light blue. These support rest and grounding. Avoid strong red, orange, or bright yellow in large areas, as they can stimulate and disturb sleep. Matte or soft finishes are better than glossy.
If the master bedroom is in the north-east, place a small brass or crystal pyramid in the centre of the room (or consult an expert for a suitable remedy).
