Southwest is the most preferred direction for the master bedroom in Vastu Shastra. This direction is associated with stability, strength, and the earth element. The head of the household sleeping in the southwest corner is believed to bring stability and authority. South is the second-best option. Northeast is generally avoided for the master bedroom.

Northeast (Ishan corner) is considered the most sacred and ideal direction for a pooja room or mandir in Vastu Shastra. This corner is believed to receive maximum positive cosmic energy. East and north are also acceptable directions. The pooja room should never be placed in the south or southeast according to traditional Vastu guidelines.

Not necessarily. South-facing houses have a reputation for being inauspicious, but this is a common misconception. A south-facing house can be Vastu-compliant if the main door is placed in one of the two auspicious south padas — S3 (Vitatha) or S4 (Grihrakshita) — both rated excellent in our engine. The other six south padas are unfavorable, so precise pada placement matters far more than the broad "south-facing" label. The Northeast direction, known as Ishan Kon, is considered the most sacred zone in Vastu Shastra.
